Spotlight On: Plant Based and Non-Wool Blends (Part 2)

I know you all have been on the edge of your seats for part 2 of our plant-based and wool-free yarns roundup, so let’s get into it!

Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Worsted - 100% certified organic cotton

This candy shop of color tempts with an array of sweet treats ranging from rich and creamy neutrals to scrumptious and saturated hues. The palette is created with low-impact dyes, and a funky twist gives this 100% certified organic cotton a light and lofty hand.

Umaro by Jared Flood - Blue Sky Cotton is the yarn for you if you want a cotton version of this handsome blanket!

Berry Baby Hat by Michele Sabatier- This free pattern is a perfect topper for a little one, and with all the bright colors of Blue Sky Cotton, you will have a farmer's market selection of colors!

Blue Sky Fiber Organic Cotton Sport - 100% certified organic cotton

This is Blue Sky Worsted's little sister, Organic Cotton Sport. This yarn is environmentally friendly and naturally soft, making it ideal for baby knits and your favorite sweater. This sport two-ply yarn comes in a fabulous burst of color.

Temecula by Blue Sky Fiber Team - We featured this cowl in our newsletter a few weeks ago, and it sold like crazy.  It is a great accessory option for those who cannot wear wool.

Stockington Striped Hat by Nancy Evkall—Keep an eye on the newsletter! We'll be featuring this darling hat in the next couple of weeks!

Berroco Pima 100 - 100% pima cotton

This lovely cotton pima is tightly spun into a worsted-weight yarn. The yarn is incredibly soft but still retains excellent stitch definition. Unmercerized cotton gives a matte finish to the color palette. We love Pima 100 for summer garments, baby knits, and dishcloths.

Trista by Amy Christoffers - This little shawl is a great way to add a pop of color to a white tee or summer outfit.

Tunisian Crochet Washcloth by Purl Soho—This is the perfect project for beginners to practice Tunisian Crochet.

mYak Baby Yak Kupa - 50% baby yak, 50% organic cotton

Kupa is the result of a blend between the best organic cotton and mYak's soft baby yak. It is a fresh mid-season yarn with an exceptional feeling to the touch, drapey and buttery soft, ideal for light tops, shawls, and accessories.

Tesoro - I knit this Isabel Kraemer top out of Kupa last year and the yarn knits up beautifully.  I think this is my favorite wool-free blend.

Hipster Top by Joji Locatelli - This top was the featured project at the mYak retreat I attended this summer.  I have seen it in person, and it is darling!

Guess what? We have so many yarns to feature; you will have to stay tuned for part 3 next week!
