In most climates, you are celebrating warm summer weather so why not begin our "Spotlight" series with Quince & Co. Sparrow. (I say most as we have quite a bit of cool fog here on the coast.) I will begin each Spotlight with a little note about the featured product and follow up with a lot of project ideas and photographs for you all to dream about!
Quince & Co. Sparrow is an organic linen that is grown in Belgium and then spun in Italy. Quince says,"Sparrow is a plain little yarn, beautiful in its simplicity. Its clean, smooth hand is crisp as you knit it. But after washing and wearing it becomes handkerchief soft." It is a fingering weight yarn knitting to 6 stitches to the inch on a size US 3 (3.25mm) needle. Each50 gram skein contains 168 yards. Sparrow can be hand or machine washed, making it excellent for a variety of projects. The yarn is milled in both a solid colors and stunning subtle marls.

Now some of our favorite projects using Sparrow!
Warm Springs Bath Mitt by Blue Bee Studios - If you have never worked with linen before, this project is the perfect place to start. The pattern is an easy combination of slip stitches and garter stitch so this is something anyone can knit. I have this bath mitt hanging in my shower and just wash it along with my towels.
