A Fast Finish & Our Fall Knit Along
Dear Friends,
If you're looking for a quick and satisfying knit, the Golden Fields Vest is a wonderful choice. I finished mine from cast-on to bind-off in just six days! It's amazing how quickly a project comes together when there aren't any sleeves to knit. The sample is currently in the shop, but you can see the finished vest on Ravelry. I'll also be adding a photo of me wearing it tomorrow, so be sure to check back. Finishing this vest has me excited to finally tackle the sleeves on my Dagmar Jacket during our August Finish Along!
With the vest complete, my US 8 needles were feeling a little lonely, so I cast on the CFC Seed Stitch Scarf featured in this week's newsletter. I wanted an easy, relaxing project to pick up whenever I have a few spare minutes, and I'm already in love with it. The combination of Camellia Merino Worsted and Lamana Premia creates such a beautiful fabric.
We've also added a few of our foundational knitting classes to the schedule: Knitting 101, Knitting 102, and Fixing Mistakes. Keep checking back over the next few days as we add even more classes, including short rows, increases and decreases, a beginner sweater class (knit in children's sizes), and stripes.
Speaking of stripes... get ready for our Fall Olga/Stripe Along! This is the perfect opportunity to cast on a cozy sweater for winter. Many of us at the shop will be knitting an Olga Sweater, Jacket, or Blouse, but you're welcome to knit any striped sweater pattern you'd like.
We'll have curated Olga kits available soon, including one featuring a brand-new yarn. Purchase your yarn from us, and we'll gift you the pattern. If you're knitting a different striped sweater, just let us know you're joining the fun. Finish your sweater by October 11 and send us a photo for a chance to win great prizes, including $50 Monarch Knitting gift cards, a Salty Blonde Sock Set, and a few fun reads from our library.
We can't wait to see what you create!
Knit and be happy,
Ann
