Stripes, Sweaters & New Inspiration

Monarch Knitting Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Are you wrapping up some WIPs for the August Finish Along? I am happy to report that I have a small bit of the second sleeve left to finish on my Dagmar Jacket. However, I also decided to knit a fall sweater for my grandson. I picked up some Scout yarn in a beautiful green shade called Moss Heather to knit a toddler-sized Anker Sweater. Children’s sweaters knit up quickly, and a few days in, I am about to start the ribbing on the body. So, add that one to my list of projects to finish!

With some empty knitting needles, I will be ready for the Fall Olga/Stripe Along. In this newsletter, we are featuring the Olga Blouse in Quince & Co. Chickadee—Molly is going to knit that one. We are also showcasing some new yarn alongside a favorite for the Olga Sweater. I'm going to knit mine in the new, wonderful Bramble & Fleece Sheep Soft Yarn. We are also offering Olga Sweater kits in my favorite yarn, Kelbourne Woolens Scout. (We’ll highlight the new yarn in full in next week’s newsletter, but you can get a sneak peek here.)

If you missed the last couple of newsletters, Fall Olga/Stripe Along is a fun opportunity to cast on a sweater for late Fall.  You can knit an Olga with all of us, or choose a different striped sweater; just let us know you're joining the KAL. Finish your sweater by October 11 and send us a photo for a chance to win great prizes, including $50 Monarch Knitting gift cards, a Salty Blonde Sock Set, and a few fun reads from our library.

Our new classes are filling up quickly; the stripes class sold out immediately, so we've added another one on September 5th. We are working to add a couple more new classes next week.

For those of you who love the knitted toy book "Mouche & Friends," preorders are open for the new book by Cinthia Vallet, "Chex Myrtil: More Seamless Friends to Knit and Love." The whimsical animals and outfits are absolutely darling! Additionally, for those who enjoy a bit of embroidery, we have a fun "do-it-yourself" zippered pouch. Check out the "This Bag Holds____" bag.

Knit and be happy,
Ann

Highlights

Emilee Dee Mitts

A pair of fingerless mitts is always a good idea - especially when they're this pretty! The Emilee Dee Mitts pair beautifully with Rowan Felted Tweed, creating lightweight warmth and crisp stitch definition you'll reach for all season.

Hellebore Socks

Our flagship Fanshell Fingering was made for projects like this! Pair it with a Pinecone Mini to knit the delightful floral colorwork of Hellebore...A sock you'll love knitting as much as wearing. Charming!

dot|top

A fresh take on a knitted tee! dot|top combines unique sideways construction with subtle shadow-knit dots for a modern look. We love it in Lamana Cosma for a lightweight layer you'll reach for again and again.

Olga Blouse

Elegant, timeless, and effortlessly wearable, the Olga Blouse by PetiteKnit features a beautifully textured yoke and softly puffed sleeves. Our kits pair this lovely design with Quince & Co. Chickadee, a springy sport-weight wool that showcases every stitch. Molly will be knitting this for the KAL, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Olga Sweater

With classic stripes and an easy, relaxed fit, the Olga Sweater is a PetiteKnit favorite for good reason (Molly loves wearing hers!). Our kits are available in both Kelbourne Woolens Scout and Bramble & Fleece Wooltrace DK, giving you two beautiful options for creating this timeless wardrobe staple.

Note: We don’t currently have Molly’s exact color combinations in stock, but we’re happy to order them in for you.

A cute little pouch is always a good idea! These new zip pouches from E. They make a great little gift, too!

Degen Restock + New Fun Scissors!

Degen favorites are back, along with a few new additions! We’ve added their Two Tone Circle Scissors - tiny, colorful, and TSA approved for your travel knitting. Plus, the much-loved Black Cat now comes with three tapestry needles tucked inside instead of cords. Cute and clever!
