Build Your Knitting Confidence: Short Rows - November 7th

Join us for a deep dive into short rows, based on one of our favorite sessions from our “Build Your Knitting Confidence with the Patty Lyons Workbook” workshop series.  

When you see short rows in a pattern, are you tempted to move on to another design? No longer! In this workshop, we’ll learn two methods for short rows - wrap & turn and German. First, we’ll learn the concept of short rows working flat, and then we will learn how to work short rows in the round following the exercises in the Patty Lyons Knitting Bag of Tricks Official Workbook. This will be a roundtable discussion of knitting, and not only will you learn from your swatch but also from the fellow knitters around you!  Whether you’ve taken our previous “Build your Knitting Confidence with the Patty Lyons Workbook” class series and want a quick refresher or you are looking to build your toolkit beyond the basics, this workshop will strengthen your confidence with short rows. 

Skills: Please have a good knowledge of knitting. This is not a ”how" to knit class.
Supplies: Please bring BOTH the Patty Lyons Knitting Bag of Tricks and The Patty Lyons Bag of Tricks Official Workbook.  You will also need two balls of DK or worsted weight yarn and two sets of appropriate needles (including one 16” circular or set of DPNs).

Homework (Please complete before class): 
Begin two swatches, as follows:
Swatch #1:
With one ball of yarn and set of needles, cast on 25 stitches and work 4 rows flat in stockinette stitch (knitting on the RS and purling on the WS). 
 
Swatch #2:
With the second ball of yarn and your circular or double-pointed needles, cast on 68 stitches. Join in the round and work two rounds.
