Spotlight on Yarn: Quince & Co. Sparrow

In most climates, you are celebrating warm summer weather so why not begin our "Spotlight" series with Quince & Co. Sparrow. (I say most as we have quite a bit of cool fog here on the coast.) I will begin each Spotlight with a little note about the featured product and follow up with a lot of project ideas and photographs for you all to dream about!  Quince & Co. My Field Day Cardigan: The sweater that held two surprises for me.

My Field Day Cardigan: The sweater that held two surprises for me.

I am going to start this post with a bit of honesty.  I received two bags of Stra from Woolfolk to knit a sample with over a year ago.  I wasn’t inspired by a project or the yarn so I popped it into my stash and it sat – and sat – and sat. Then I arrange all of the yarn by weight.  That allows me to look at each skein and make some quick...

SSP (Slip Stitch Party) Cast On

SSP (Slip Stitch Party) Cast On

When I saw the test knitting call for Isabel Kramer’s newest shawl, SSP, go out on Instagram, I knew the project would find its way onto my needles. The shawl is designed in 6 sections, using different slip stitch patterns or stripes in each section. Once the large first section is done; it is on to the party!     The project was designed with Brooklyn Tweed Loft in mind and I thought that I would use the original colors for the project.  As always, I peeked through the complete SSP project on Ravelry and spied Stanetty’s shawl. I thought...
