Spotlight on Events: A Visit from Julie Asselin

We are all so excited to welcome Julie and Jean-Francois Asselin to the shop next week.  As you know, we feature many independent dyers at the shop, and I can say, hands down, that their yarns are in my top two we carry. I do not know what it is about the way they create color but in my eye; I see an incredible amount of skill and depth in their work. These are colors that I want to be part of my wardrobe and are!

We received three huge boxes in the shop yesterday afternoon brimming with yarn. A new base or two, new colors, and some mini skein sets. Even a couple of colors dyed just for the shop!  Watch for social media for sneak peeks!

To give you a taste of what is in store, we are featuring a small sample of the projects that will be on display.  Scroll down to the bottom to see something extra special!

Ocean Mist Wrap in Anatolia. This wrap is simple, elegant, and summery! Anatolia, Julie's silk mohair, is a perfect replacement for Shibui Silk Cloud.  It is equally as soft and luxurious.

Jolie Sweater in Fino and Anatolia. We will have the cardigan at the shop, but you can also knit a pullover version. I like the lace at the top, for me, that is more wearable than an all-over lace pattern.

Gratitude Hat in Fino and Anatolia. If you want to go for a smaller project, this is hat is a great way to play with some of the beautiful colors!

We will also have a few Monarch Knitting samples on display.

Fleur in Leizu DK and Anatolia. Fleur was one of our most popular kits ever.  Diane knit one for the shop and oh my goodness, did this project land on many sets of needles! This is a fun project and it looks fabulous on!

Love Note in Fino and Anatolia. This is one of Koryn's favorite sweaters, and isn't the Hydrangees colorway beautiful? This says spring to me! (Please note sweet Linus is in the background!)

As an extra surprise, Julie is bringing some of the amazing earrings she makes. These are exclusive to trunk shows and not sold online. We will only have a few pairs on hand, so first come, first serve.

I cannot think of a better way to celebrate or birthday weekend than with Julie, Jean Francois, and their beautiful yarn!
