Dear Friends,
Happy Spring! I am spending a few days in Pittsburgh visiting my daughter and her family. So far, it has been a relaxing trip filled with time spent with my grandson, walks, and plenty of delicious meals. Thanks to a recommendation from Kare, my daughter and I spent a lovely afternoon in Sewickley, a charming little "village" just outside of Pittsburgh. We may have gotten into a bit of trouble at the local needlepoint store!
I’ve had my Coomo Cardigan in the deep freeze of my knitting projects for the last couple of months, and I am determined to finish it before summer. It was been a lovely companion on the plane. Although it’s knit on small needles, the half-fisherman’s rib pattern is just the right level of engagement for me.
We recently received our first order for Lumos Knitting Lights in the shop, just in time for my trip. I’ve been working on a darker grey, so it was great to bring this compact light with me for the plane and my hotel room. When designers plan lighting in hotel rooms, they often overlook the needs of crafters – give us some extra light!
We have a lot of fun spring projects lined up this week. The Pressed Flowers Kerchief is the perfect spring accessory, and the Marielle Scarf is so elegant. You can put a “spring” in your step with the Between Petals Socks. My blanket project continues with Jared Flood’s Shale Blanket, knit in EweEwe Wooly Worsted. I saw Andrea Mowry wearing the Poppy Sweater at VKLive in New York, and it is a great addition to a knitted wardrobe.
Make sure to mark your calendars! Monarch is hosting a goodbye party for Koryn on Saturday, April 11th. Please drop by the shop to wish her well and enjoy some treats. It will definitely be a bittersweet day.
Knit and... Be Happy!

My Spring Knitting Soundtrack
Just a few of the shows, music, and podcasts I’ve been enjoying while I knit lately—thought it might inspire your next stitching session! 🌷

Delicate, elegant, and perfectly suited for the season, the Marielle Scarf by Maria Schei Mogenstad is a beautiful lace accessory that adds a light, refined touch to any outfit. We’re knitting this lovely scarf in a sumptuous pairing of Knitting for Olive Pure Silk and Soft Silk Mohair, creating a fabric that is softly luminous with a gentle halo and graceful drape.

Looking to play with color? The Pressed Flowers Kerchief by Amy Christoffers is a fun mosaic knit that brings beautiful texture and contrast to your needles. We’ve paired Ito So Kosho with Spincycle Dyed in the Wool in some truly lovely color combinations - a joyful project that’s as fun to knit as it is to wear. And spot on for the season!

A little floral detail goes a long way. The Between Petals Socks by Teti Lutsak feature a sweet band of colorwork paired with classic sock construction. We’ve chosen Lang Jawoll — our favorite yarn for sock knitting — making this a durable, beautiful pair you’ll reach for again and again. Add a little "spring" to your step this season!

Continuing with her blanket project, Ann has cast on to swatch for the Shale Baby Blanket by Jared Flood — a timeless design with beautiful texture and gentle waves. She’s knitting it in Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted, a soft and cozy yarn that’s a wonderful choice for baby knits. Isn't the stitch pattern stunning? Definitely an heirloom knit!

Poppy Pullover
We’re casting on the beautiful new Poppy Pullover by Andrea Mowry, a sweater full of sweet eyelets, delicate bobbles, and soft texture. We're pairing this new favorite in a stunning combo of North Bay Fibers Elemental Fingering held with Lamana Premia, creating a fabric that is soft, airy, and gently haloed with beautiful depth. A special piece that’s as fun to knit as it is to wear!

Ariana
Fresh, modern, and full of charm, Ariana by Amy Christoffers offers a unique take on the classic granny square cardigan. Featuring our Lighthouse Worsted in curated color combinations, these kits are designed to go along with the Cardigan Crochet Along with Kare (May–June), a fun way to learn, connect, and create something truly special. Who's in?

Plucky Knitter Legacy Sport
A true legacy yarn has arrived — and now in beautiful new colors. Spun from Shiniko wool sourced from family-owned Western ranches, Legacy Sport offers a lovely balance of bounce, gentle tooth, and next-to-skin softness.
Write on/Wipe off Stitch Markers
A clever little notion to make your knitting life easier, these Write On / Wipe Off Stitch Markers let you attach pattern notes directly to your project. Use them to mark special stitches, repeats, or spots you need to revisit later. Reusable, practical, and available with or without a Sharpie, they’re a fun addition to your notion pouch (and make a great gift, too).
