If you love to wear sweaters, pills are a part of your life. We are asked all the time, does this fiber pill? To be honest, the answer is usually yes. There is no getting around it. A sweater, when loved and worn, is going to pill in certain places. Yes, some yarns pill more than others, but most everything is going to require a little bit of cleanup from time to time. With that in mind, let's take a peek at what I keep at home to fight those pesky pills.
First, there is the Mini Gleaner. Yes, there is a larger Gleaner that can quickly cover a bigger area, but I like this more compact version. It fits so nicely in my hand, and I can control the pressure a bit more.
Next up is the Conair Fabric Shaver that I purchased on Amazon. It is battery-operated and a breeze to use, especially if you have a bigger piece to work on. I mention this in the video, but I want to say it here: I watch the pressure with which I use this tool. I move it lightly over the garment, so I do not snag the fiber.
Lastly, I have my handy dandy Cocoknits Fuzz Off Comb. This light, compact de-piller lives in the cosmetic bag in my tote or purse. How many times have you looked down at a sweater you are wearing and realized it needs a bit of attention? Pull the comb out of your purse and your knit wear will look its best.
Hats off to my pill-fighting trio!
