Dear Friends,
This holiday season has flown by at an incredible pace! I can hardly believe that Christmas is just a week away. We will be celebrating Mr. Monarch’s birthday and Christmas Eve with my mom, our daughter, and a friend visiting from the East Coast. Christmas night will be spent with dear friends and their family, making for a calm and lovely few days.
As I mentioned last week, we are in the process of building our 2025 calendar. We have an exciting weekend planned with Cecelia Campochiaro, Britt-Marie, Sandy, and Ito Yarns on January 17th and 18th. This event will be filled with classes and inspiration (I might even take some classes on Saturday). We also have Knitting 101 and 102 scheduled. This time, Knitting 102 will feature the Sophie Shawl as a fun second project! Additionally, we have a sock-knitting class and an Embroidery on Knits class. In March, Catherine will be offering a Building Your Knitting Confidence class. Be sure to check them all out in the “Classes and Events” section of the newsletter.
The deadline for shipping gifts in time for Christmas delivery is getting tight and unpredictable. Remember, a Monarch Gift Card, available for in-store or online purchases, makes an excellent gift for any knitter or crocheter. Also, consider the 2026 Curated Seasons Box – Traveling Stitches, a gift your recipient can enjoy year-round.
Over the next two weeks, our newsletter (filled with fun projects for the new year) will be sent out on Wednesdays, as the following day is a holiday. We will do our best to process orders promptly, but we kindly ask for your patience as we will be taking Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off to spend time with our families. Thank you for your understanding!
Knit and Be Happy,
Ann

Highlights

A sweet, wearable knit with a softly curved shape that wraps just right. Knit from the center out and finished with a contrasting edge, it’s an easy, satisfying project with beautiful results. We’ve kitted it in Pascuali Cashmere for a lightweight, luxuriously soft scarf that feels extra special. Our kit makes the medium size, perfect for gifting or keeping close all season long.

MK Gift Ready!
Andrea Mowry has done it again! Her newest Ooey Gooey design brings all that fun texture to a pair of mitts made for chilly days. With options for fingerless mitts or full mittens, this cuff-up design is a joy to knit and easy to wear. We’re using Sandnes Garn Sunday for a soft, durable finish that’s perfect for everyday warmth. A must-knit for the season!

If you love smart construction and cozy results, the Double Hat by SuviKnits is a must-knit. This clever design creates a fully reversible, double-layer hat that’s warm without feeling bulky. We’ve kitted it with Knitting for Olive Merino + Soft Silk Mohair in two colors for a soft, elegant finish with just the right amount of halo. A satisfying knit and a winter staple you’ll reach for again and again.

If you’ve been wanting to try knitting socks, or just love a quick, satisfying project, the No Fear Shorty Socks by Denise DeSantis are a fantastic place to start. This easy, confidence-building pattern pairs beautifully with Hedgehog Fibers Twist Sock, giving you lively color, soft comfort, and a fun knit from start to finish. These little socks are MK Gift Ready and make a perfect stocking stuffer or last-minute handmade gift!

Looking for a unique handmade project that’s as fun to knit as it is useful? The Bindle Bag by Ozetta is a charming, textural accessory designed to hold your favorite notions, a small project, or even serve as a reusable gift bag. We’ve paired Woolstok Light with ITO Sensai for a soft, beautifully structured fabric. A delightful knit and a wonderful gift idea for the season!

If you’re dreaming of a soft, snuggly sweater for the season, the Nordic Snowflake Sweater Chunky is the perfect cast-on. This top-down, oversized design features a sweet snowflake yoke and simple colorwork that’s approachable for newer knitters and relaxing for seasoned ones. We’ve paired Woolfolk Far with KFO Soft Silk Mohair for a deliciously soft, cloud-like fabric you’ll want to live in all winter long. A festive, heartwarming knit for the coziest months of the year.
