Nov 13th Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Can you believe we are almost halfway through November? What have I been doing, you ask? Packing up our Monarch Advent Calendars, and I am happy to say they are winging their way to each recipient. It was a big job, but also a joyful one to plan and assemble. To celebrate wrapping up such a fun (and full!) project, I’m taking a little break with my oldest daughter. I cherish any one-on-one time I get with my girls, and I’m making it a goal to carve out those moments each year.

For this trip, I needed a project that lets me sit and stitch, so I finally settled on a project that I've admired countless times but never landed on the right yarn... until now. Susanne Muller's Fake Sweater Scarf.  I am not sure I want a bright red sweater; I like more muted colors. But accessories? Bring on the color! I can wear this over a jacket, shirt, or another sweater. No question about how to tie it, it has sweater arms. Lamana Premia and Como are packed away in my carry-on, ready to accompany me on my vacation!

Last but not least, a big thank you to Pam and Amy for joining us this past weekend! We had a fantastic time soaking up their creativity. Our heads are full of new ideas—bold color combos, crochet borders, granny square play. This week, we are featuring the Juniper Beanie, a pattern designed for the weekend, and we’ll be sharing some of its projects with you in the coming weeks. So much inspiration to go around!

Knit, and be happy,
Ann

Highlights

Bring a little color and creativity to your fall knitting with this fun cowl by Natasja Hornby! This clever bandana-style cowl uses a simple mosaic technique to create a bold, graphic design that feels both modern and timeless. We’ve kitted three colors of mYak Fior di Lino, whose soft drape and beautiful texture make this project an instant favorite. A fresh and fun knit full of charm with effortless wearability.

Rich texture meets effortless elegance in the Hazelnut Shawl by Rina Lehmann. This triangular design features graceful cables and beautiful drape, worked in one piece from side to side. We’ve chosen Woolfolk TOV DK, a buttery-soft merino that gives this shawl both structure and flow. Plus, DK means it knits up quickly! A cozy, statement-worthy knit that’s perfect for the season.  How about one in the cheerful red?

MK Gift Ready!

Get ready for some cheerful, cozy knitting! Rows of little juniper berries dance around the crown, creating a design that’s as fun to knit as it is to wear. Knit in Ikigai Paka Chunky, it’s a soft, speedy project that makes for a thoughtful handmade gift - or a little holiday treat for yourself!

MK Gift Ready!

A love letter to lace and all things delicate, this pattern features flowing ivy lace motif that winds gracefully down the foot, bringing a touch of natural beauty to your stitches. We’re knitting ours in Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering, a soft, springy yarn that makes every detail shine. Whether you’re curling up for a cozy evening knit or gifting to a fellow plant lover, these socks are pure joy from cast-on to bind-off.

Downbeat Sweater

Like the first beat in a song, The Downbeat by Elizabeth Smith is a cozy rhythm for your fall knitting. This top-down, seamless sweater is simple, versatile, and so much fun to knit. We’re working ours in Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Worsted, a cozy, woolly favorite that gives the design beautiful stitch definition and drape. A quick, rhythmic knit that’s sure to be music to your needles!
