Oct 16th Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Like every knitter with far too many projects, I couldn’t resist casting on something new!  We just received a fresh shipment of Cashmere Treats, and the DK weight practically leapt into my hands. I’ve started the Armor Scarf, and I’m loving every stitch. Maybe it’s the cooler weather, or maybe I just needed that bit of instant gratification, but this project is pure joy. It is just the kind of scarf I like…I can wrap twice around my neck to pair with a sweater or blazer. The perfect fall accessory; I hope to be wearing it soon.

Speaking of fall, I have a new vest that feels just right for the season. This one, however, isn’t my own handiwork; it was lovingly knit by my friend Linda, a wonderfully talented maker,  and I am fortunate to have some of her work in my wardrobe. I have always loved Julie Hoover’s projects, and Rigby is no exception. Classic and wearable, it’s sure to be in heavy rotation once it comes off the shop’s dress form and into my closet!

And because one good yarn always leads to another… we’ve just added Camper—the lighter-weight sister of Kelbourne Woolens Scout—to our shelves! I’ve knit two sweaters in Scout (it’s that good), and Camper brings all the same charm in a finer gauge.  It comes in 50-gram skeins, so it is perfect for colorwork projects. I think a color work vest is in my future!

Knit, and be happy,

Ann

Armor Scarf

Cozy up in pure cashmere this season! The ARMOR Scarf is worked tip to tip with subtle shaping that creates a modern, drapey silhouette. Whether you wear it knotted, wrapped, or as a small shawl, it’s a timeless piece that pairs perfectly with our Cashmere Treats Pure Cashmere DK kits. Soft, elegant, and oh-so-giftable.

Secret Fish

A stunning blend of texture, movement, and imagination. With its playful stitches that twist and flow into tiny fish motifs, this tip-to-tip shawl is both soothing and satisfying to knit. We’ve kitted it up in Woolfolk Tov DK, whose buttery softness and crisp stitch definition make each detail shine. A true knitter’s delight and a piece that feels as good as it looks!

Pilea Mitts

Inspired by the beloved pilea plant, the Pilea Mitts by Katarina Linnhagen are a study in simplicity and comfort. We've chosen Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Light for our kits - soft, springy, and lightweight, making these mitts a dream to knit and even better to wear. Featuring a clean ribbing and a beautifully shaped thumb gusset, this is a satisfying and quick knit for cozy days ahead!

Laid Edges Socks

Knit your next favorite pair of socks! The Laid Edges Socks by Kellie Macpherson feature a simple cable detail that adds just the right amount of interest to classic stockinette. Our kits include West Yorkshire Spinners BFL DK, a buttery-soft wool with a gentle sheen and sturdy warmth. A soothing knit you’ll love from cast-on to cozy finish.

Rigby Vest

A cozy raglan pullover with a modern twist! The Facet Sweater features a simple, graphic pattern that’s easy to knit - just two colors at a time, with short floats and endless color possibilities. We’ve kitted it up in the new West Yorkshire Spinners Morris DK, a woolly wonder spun from British fleeces and inspired by the timeless colors of William Morris.
