Sept 25th Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Happy Fall! I woke up yesterday morning to the sound of raindrops and could not have been more thrilled! Despite the raindrops, the weather here has been quite balmy, and it looks like we have a warm week ahead. I have been enjoying sitting outside in the late afternoon and knitting.

The Classic is coming along nicely; I'm about halfway through the body of the sweater. A few more days of knitting al fresco and I'll be on to the sleeves. Thank you to everyone who voted on Instagram to help me decide on the neckline - the turtleneck won by a landslide! Sometimes, you just need the opinion of your friends!

A quick note: Friday evening’s Ikigai event, Color Workshop and Bubbles, is a class. The shop will be closed that evening and open only to registered participants. On Saturday, we’ll welcome everyone to the Ikigai Trunk Show, full of color and inspiration! Pam Powers will also be teaching two classes: Granny Square Design and Crochet Borders for Knitters. I’m especially intrigued by the crochet borders - it seems like such a quick and lovely way to finish a simple shawl. Curious about some of the fall rituals some of us at Monarch follow?  Check out our latest blog post: Stitching into Fall: Cozy Rituals for the Season.

Knit, and be happy,

Ann

Featuring stranded seagull motifs and a seamless finish, this fun accessory makes a perfect gift or a playful addition to your own wardrobe. We’ve kitted it up with our Fanshell Fingering + Lang Jawoll for a sea-inspired color combos that are fresh and full of character.

We’re swooning over the Yalecrest Hat, knit in Woolfolk’s exquisite Tov DK. Its elegant cables and cozy fit make it a perfect companion for chilly autumn days. This beautiful design is equal parts classic and modern and sure to be a project you’ll love on (and off) your needles.

Vanilla Socks

Sometimes simple is best - especially when the yarn does all the work! The Vanilla Sock by Crazy Sock Lady Designs is the perfect canvas for Katia Degradé, a yarn that creates the most magical fades and seamless transitions of color. Whether you’re new to sock knitting or looking for a relaxing project, this pattern is both approachable and satisfying.

P.S. She even includes a free YouTube tutoruial to guide you through the magic loop method, making this a great choice for knitters wanting to learn or refresh their skills.

Rosie Sweater

Modern elegance meets cozy comfort! Wrap yourself in timeless beauty with the Rosie Sweater by LE KNIT. This oversized turtleneck features a stunning rose motif that’s as fun to knit as it is to wear.
